Saturday was a busy day for some—including competitions in ritual, music, the performing arts, Majority Member Messenger team competition, as well as fun at the poolside hospitality room and friendship among all. The pageant contestants had their own ritual competition as well as a personal interview. Before the weekend, the contestants also had to write an essay about innovative promotion ideas and the essays were printed and distributed for each Bethel to read.
Saturday evening was the awards banquet. Before the banquet started, some entertainment was provided by Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter 06-07 Kara and Tom, Associate Bethel Guardian of 65 St Paul. They performed Kermit the Frog’s Rainbow Connection—Kara played the piano and Tom did a perfect Kermit the Frog voice.
Our distinguished guests included:
- State Master Councilor of Minnesota DeMolay Ben
- Grand Worthy Patron of Minnesota Order of the Eastern Star Dave MacPherson and his wife Sandy
- Senior Grand Deacon of Minnesota Masons Tom Hendrickson
- Miss Manitoba Job’s Daughter Candace
- Miss Montana Job’s Daughter Katie
- Miss Wisconsin Congeniality Megan
The Wisconsin and Manitoba delegations were also introduced.
After dinner was consumed, some entertainment was provided by the day’s competitors. Arianna from Bethel 28 Duluth danced, Miss Montana Job’s Daughter and duel member of Bethel 32 Moorhead Katie sang, and Katie-Anne, Kellie, Shannon, and Valerie from Bethel 76 White Bear Lake did a song and dance from Hairspray.
Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter Kara presided over the extemporaneous question. After the contestants answered the question and danced their way back into the room, awards were given out for the performing arts, music, ritual, and Majority Member Messenger team. New this year was the purple ribbon for those competitors who got honorable mention. The Supreme Messenger Team is the first place in each individual category.
After the banquet, pirate-y fun and games were provided poolside planned by GBHQ Pam and Miss MNJD Kara. An auction for prizes took place with the tokens won from games. Smoothies were sold to raise money for the GBHQ’s service project—the MN Aids Project. The smoothies were a huge success and raised over $80—thanks to everyone who bought one!
Sunday morning brought the Chapel service entitled “Live Everyday Like it is Your Last” presented by our Grand Bethel Chaplain Eden of Bethel 32 Moorhead. Following Chapel was the Movin’ Right Along to the Rainbow Connection Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter Pageant 2007. Pageant Chairman Jackie Norling welcomed everyone and said what all is involved with being a pageant contestant. Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter 2006-07 Kara was escorted into the room by PGBHQ Katie-Anne, followed by Miss Congeniality 2006-07 Amanda. The contestants were then introduced and escorted into the room. The previous Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughters and Miss Congenialities were introduced and included:

Why I want to be Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter:
From the moment I joined Job’s Daughters, I knew it was something I wanted to put all of my energies into. Job’s has provided wonderful experiences for friendship with the girls of my Bethel and the girls of the State, not to mention friends internationally. I had never been involved in an organization that made me feel so good and want to contribute so much to. I want to become Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter because representing Job’s has been such a wonderful honor I want to continue to speak for the Organization and it’s incredible members as an official ambassador for the State of Minnesota.

GRAND BETHEL FALL INN
This fun event was started in the early 1970’s so that Minnesota Job’s Daughters could have an event in between the summer camp and
the Annual Session of the Grand Bethel in the spring.
It is held in the ‘fall’ at an ‘inn’, thus the name FALL INN. After the first year of fun, the Ritual Competition was added to the weekend.
Then a few years later music was added. Around the same time the Miss Minnesota Job’s Daughter Pageant was changed from Grand
Session in June to FALL INN. Over the years, other events have been incorporated into this weekend. State-wide initiations or Majority
ceremonies have been held. There have been changes in the competitions and various theme events have been included. Since this
weekend is usually held around the time of Halloween, Halloween parties of various sorts have been held many times.
Information about FALL INN will be sent out around the end of August……look for it and join the fun.
